Built in 1922 as Locust Hill Dairy Farm, this peaceful Marlinton property has been part of the area’s story for more than a century. Today, we—Joseph and Vanessa—are honored to continue that tradition by welcoming guests with historic charm, homemade breakfasts, on-property dining and twenty beautiful mountain acres. Located in the heart of Pocahontas County, Locust Hill is a warm mountain retreat where historic character, comfortable lodging, outdoor adventure, homemade food and genuine West Virginia hospitality come together.
Stay in one of our individually decorated B&B rooms or escape to our fully equipped, pet-friendly private cabin. Every stay includes a complimentary homemade hot breakfast and freshly ground organic dark-roast coffee.
Located just minutes from the Greenbrier River Trail and walking distance to downtown Marlinton, Locust Hill is a comfortable home base for exploring Snowshoe Mountain Resort, Cass Scenic Railroad, Green Bank Observatory and the natural beauty of West Virginia.

Whether you are planning a romantic mountain getaway, a family vacation or an outdoor adventure, Locust Hill offers a comfortable place to relax at the end of the day. Life moves at a gentler pace at Locust Hill. Begin your morning with a homemade breakfast and freshly ground coffee, served at 8 am. Take a peaceful walk around the property, enjoy views of the private pond and surrounding mountains, or relax on the front porch swing as the sun begins to set. Spend time together with outdoor games, gather near the outdoor café fireplace, or simply find a quiet place to unwind among our twenty scenic acres.
After a day on the trail or exploring the mountains, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner at Locust Hill. Our on-property restaurant offers comfortable indoor seating and relaxing outdoor dining. Dinner is served from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and must be ordered in advance. During your stay, we will normally take your dinner order at breakfast. If you would like dinner on the evening of your arrival, please call us at 304-799-5471 by the day before your arrival.
